Transferring your domain moves its registration from your current registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap) to Koelhost.
| Step | Action | Description |
| 1. Preparation | Unlock the Domain | Log in to your current registrar's control panel and remove the Registrar Lock (sometimes called Domain Lock) for your domain. |
| 2. Get Code | Obtain the EPP Code | Request the EPP Code (also called Authorization Code or Transfer Key) from your current registrar. This is a password-like code proving you are the owner. |
| 3. Disable Privacy | Turn off Privacy Protection | Temporarily disable any Domain Privacy or WHOIS Protection so Koelhost can verify your contact information. |
| 4. Initiate | Start the Transfer at Koelhost | Log in to your Koelhost account, find the "Domain Transfer" section, and enter your domain name and the EPP code. |
| 5. Confirmation | Approve the Transfer Email | You will receive an email (to the Administrative Contact email on file for the domain) asking you to confirm the transfer. This step is crucial. |
| 6. Wait & Finish | Monitor the Status | The transfer typically takes 5-7 days to complete. Once finished, Koelhost will be your new registrar. |
Note: The transfer fee usually includes a free one-year renewal of the domain registration. Ensure your contact information (especially the Admin Email) is up to date at your current registrar before starting.
