Enabling and Managing Domain Privacy Protection

Print

What is Domain Privacy Protection?

By international mandate (ICANN), the contact information of a domain owner (name, address, email, phone number) must be listed in the public WHOIS database. Domain Privacy Protection replaces your personal contact details with generic information from the privacy service provider, protecting you from spam, telemarketers, and identity theft.

How to Enable/Manage (at Koelhost):

Since Koelhost is your registrar:

  1. Log in to your Koelhost client area or domain management portal.

  2. Navigate to your Domain List or Domain Management section.

  3. Select the domain you want to protect.

  4. Look for a setting named Domain Privacy, WHOIS Protection, or ID Protection.

  5. Toggle it ON or select the option to purchase/enable the service.

Important: Domain Privacy must be disabled temporarily when transferring your domain to a new registrar to allow the transfer to be verified.
