Scheduling and Restoring Website Backups via the Client Area

Print

While cPanel has a backup tool, many hosts like Koelhost provide a superior, one-click backup solution through their Client Area or a dedicated cPanel plugin (like JetBackup or R1Soft).

  1. Locate Backup Tool: Log in to your Koelhost Client Area or look for the Backups or JetBackup icon within cPanel.

  2. Scheduling/Generation:

    • Find the option for Generate a Full Backup or Schedule Backup.

    • Choose whether you want to back up the Home Directory (files), Databases, or a Full Account backup.

    • Start the backup process. A full backup file may be emailed to you or stored in your Client Area.

  3. Restoring a Backup:

    • In the Client Area/Backup tool, you will see a list of available backups by date.

    • Select the backup date you want to restore.

    • Choose to restore Files, Databases, or Emails.

    • Click the RestoreRestoreRestore button. Warning: This overwrites all current data with the old backup data.
