A Beginner's Guide to cPanel/WHM Interface

Print

cPanel is the most popular Linux-based web hosting control panel. It is a user-friendly interface that allows you to manage your hosting account. WHM (Web Host Manager) is a separate, more advanced interface used by resellers or those with a VPS/Dedicated server to manage the cPanel accounts themselves. As a beginner, you will primarily use cPanel.

  • Login: Access cPanel by logging into your Koelhost Client Area and clicking the "Login to cPanel" button, or by navigating to yourdomain.com/cpanel.

  • Navigation: The cPanel dashboard is divided into sections (Files, Databases, Email, Metrics, Software, Advanced).

  • Search Bar: The most efficient way to find a feature is to use the Search Bar at the top. Just start typing, e.g., "FTP" or "Email," and it will filter the results.

  • Statistics: The sidebar shows your usage limits, including Disk Space and Bandwidth—always keep an eye on these.
